CORGIdirects popular gas installer manual is packed full of information on matters related to LPG used in Permanent Dwellings, RPHs, LAVs and Boats.
Recent changes to industry Standards, namely – IGEM/UP/1B (Edition 3) – has made the previous information on ‘soundness’ testing LPG installations in permanent dwellings, LAVs & RPHs, as required under BS 5482-1 obsolete*.
*Note: BS 5482-1 is still valid for pipework installation, including cylinder locations but it is envisaged that this information will be absorbed in to BS 6891 for pipework when its next reviewed).
IGEM/UP/1B (Ed3) now covers LPG and LPG/Air mixtures in addition to Natural gas for ‘Installation’ pipework (i.e. pipework downstream of the emergency control valve). Service pipework (i.e. pipework upstream of the emergency control valve) is covered by UKlpg CoP 22.
The manual has been overhauled to reflect the recent changes and includes information on tightness testing both Service pipework (low-pressure only i.e. below 75mbar) and Installation pipework, including purging.
Additional information has also been included on RPH skirts (enclosing the space under the home with a built structure).
