BG01 - Guidance on Safe Operation of Boilers
A joint publication between Safety Assessment Federation and The Combustion Engineering Association, this publication which also has input from the HSE is aimed at managers, designers, operators, maintenance personnel and other competent persons in addressing issues relating to industrial & commercial steam and hot water boiler plant:
• the safe use and operation of boiler installation
• determining the adequate supervision and maintenance requirements that is consistent with the installed plant and its location
• reducing the likelihood of explosion, or other dangers
• using efficient boiler operation to avoid the excessive pressure/thermal cycles and load swings
• using the proper treatment and monitoring of the feedwater and condensate
• compliance with various legal requirements.
