Inspecting and maintaining or replacing buried metallic pipework
This document highlights the requirements for regular inspection of metalic under ground pipework and the replacement of corroded pipework with medium density polythylene pipework (MDPE).
It was issued by HSE and aimed at the commercial and industrial owners of liquefied petroleum gas pipework (LPG).
It highlights the issue of corrosion in buried metallic pipework, which is why leaks occur.
The advice how to carry out the inspection, replacement, maintenance of buried metallic pipework is also given.
